Sirio Mobile

Post by Master Virus »

Hi all

I'm after a mobile antenna and Siro i've heard are a good make but which one is the latest and is it the best in your opinion?
I'm hoping out of all the models there's one that everyone prefers.
Thanks

There are fakes out there so be sceptical of cheaper deals especially on Ebay
I dont have one as I use an 8ft Stainless Steel whip from Knights.
Hopfully others will comment on their findings.

I will only buy from knights as a lot seem to recommend them.
I just heard Sirio seemed to be the best for mobile but I could be wrong.

I've heard the 4000 is a good antenna and some have said even better than the 5000.

3000/4000/5000 - should all be good. The bigger the better if practical or size allows.

You can have base loaded or slightly centre-loaded, adjustable angle whip or fixed, adjustable base angle (5000 Turbo) or the one I like - but can't find a stockist - is the 4000 Megawatt "Rigid".

You can also have black or grey colour-wise on some coils too.

At the moment the 5000 turbo seems a good choice and the 4000 seems a really good antenna too.
I read people's comments/opinions and then read tons of reviews.
Sometimes it's easy to choose but most times it's hard as its 50-50.

My mates Sirio 4000 hp was good but his President Texas is better.

Have used a Sirio 3000/4000/5000 and they work pretty well for mobile.
Plenty are talking worldwide on 27.555 usb,
Some are too far up their own @rse to admit it,
Many happen to know otherwise dx-ing test free,
Showing a complete lack of respect for the law.

I fully understand that comment as I suffer from the same fate on quite a few occasions. In that case, I'd only recommend a very discrete 2ft dial-a-match aerial lol! ;)

I love the 3000 and 4000 .don't see and improvement using a 5000 myself. Just a bigger coil for more power I think.
Certainly has no improvement over the 4000 @same size length.

One consideration for me is I prefer the sirio versions with adjustable whip length into base .some versions are fixed whip no Allen key ajustment for whip and I don't like cutting whips.

4000 gets my vote ,3000 next .
