I haven't noticed any frequency drift on mine, seems solid on SSB. Receive is very sensitive as well. When using homebase knocking the RF gain down 2 or 3 segments reduces any local electrical noise but doesn't affect incoming signals.

Rock solid from switch on. Nothing more to add.

When converting to expanded, does the radio require any re-alignment or tuning,
or is it simply snip & go?

snip and move the black jumper
no alignment needed

Anybody using the P.M.E.U. had a +30 signal on FM/SSB from the dx being received yet ? T.I.A

A local was on a pmeu the other day and it sounded ok with the stock mic.
Plenty are talking worldwide on 27.555 usb,
Some are too far up their own @rse to admit it,
Many happen to know otherwise dx-ing test free,
Showing a complete lack of respect for the law.

Took the plunge and decided to get a McKinley from Nevada. Why not at that price. Just switched in on and all is good. Not sure whether to do the export mod or not.

Yeah, it is a great price and I don't think we'll ever see it cheaper so it was certainly the best time to get one.
