Post by rummageit »

Quick update as havent done one for a while, We have now over 10,800 subcribers for zello, the main channel can be monitored via shoutcast and can be herd on our main website. We have moved the gateways from the main channel to seperate the normal chatters from the Radio users the zello channel with the gateways is called SDRL radio room. Sussex gateway back up after being down for a while and has the option to be switched to repeater mode by DTMF to extend the range of local hand held users. We have also started our own radio station SDRL music which can be hijacked by our users who can go live at anytime to find out how read the how too at www.sdrlmusic.weebly.com. we also have in development a mobile frn unit which is in the testing stage and is looking to be quite fun. More soon feel free to pop in on channel to find out more.

I'm strongly considering building a 446 base station. Nothing silly, just a an old, legal 446 handheld in a case of some sort with a power supply, external antenna socket and in-built COM port keyer / VOX circuit.

Any suggestions / requests? When I get round to it, I'll post pics here.

Can we have some pornography / pics of the mobile unit? What is it using for the internet connection?

Re: sussex downs radio link now on Teamspeak

Post by rummageit »

Quick update as nothing has been posted in a while the frn raspberry pi project. The pi worked and works great as a Gateway for home use but sadly due to the way FRN communicates with the auth server It didn't work to well mobile due to switching between cell towers caused disconnection. If anyone on frn think they can solve this issue with the keep alive pls let us know. Main website is being re worked!

Due to the ups and downs of Frn and lack of development on it (really should be a decent android app for it by now) We have switched to teamspeak 3 which is worlds better and gives us so much more control over Gateways and crosslinks. If you already have a comport keyer on a radio on FRN it isnt a big leap. There is even a dedicated Gateway Plugin for radios Called Gateway commander (unsupported by teamspeak now but a new version is available gateway commander 4 beta) This gives you far more control over your radio and you even get a transmission led so if you are in another room on the server you can see if your gateway is active. Anyway if your interested and want to try for your self our teamspeak server is up and active with people popping in and out all day along with new gateways. if no one is present the Main room is linked to our main zello channel where usually someone is active. Our teamspeak server is Open for all to use and if wish to set a permanent gateway we will happily make your own room for your area. Only rule respect other users, no swearing in linked rooms.
teamspeak server address: sdrl-teamspeak.noip.me or search for us in server list. One with the most clients is main server other is back up. More details pls check our forum on our website sdrlcentral.co.uk thanks.
