Nah ... Echo-Charlie fans don't play music. They chat on LSB.

Yes they do, but E-Cs are very careful to avoid them. As for the French pirates ... dunno.

Yes, they know, and no, they don't give a toss.

Dangerous people.

Yeh, the French treat it like CB. Just heard two Scottish trawlers on USB nearby. Lots of lightening in the channel and north see though now making it rather noisy.

As for the ATC they all have secondaries should they have problems on one frequency.

Indeed. It's very unlikely in 2014 that a bit of QRM on HF is going to cause an aviation catastrophe. The planes have several other ways to communicate.

But I am not aware of there having ever been a clash between Shanwick etc and Echo-Charlies.

E-Cs would give way to ATC, because that is what they are. ATCs use high-quality radios that only accept the same SSB bandwidth that our rigs do, so they are probably totally unaware of E-C operation anyway ... they don't tune around looking for it.

It would require either a deliberate 'radio troll' to interfere with ATC, or of course the other 'pirates' who lurk there.

None of these have anything in common with Echo-Charlies, and they would still be there if every Echo-Charlie destroyed his rig at midnight tonight..

What you heard are mainly Dutch pirate stations and some guys a little closer to home, they can be heard most eveninings here in the uk between 6.200 to 7.000mhz
also 1.5 to 1.6 mhz ,3.8 to 3.95mhz 13.900 to 14.000mhz usb and 15.000 to 15.100 mhz usb plus or minus. These guys are normally very carefull what freqs they use
and run very slick stations and have many listeners who report real time via internet >http://www.easyshopdiscountzone.com/rad ... /chat.html so it is very
rare any qrm is caused to other users of the spectrum.
The EC guys tx on 6mhz using LSB and after many hours of listening to these guys it would seem in my opinion many dont know there elbow from there arse has far has radio and spectrum use goes. I have witnessed on a few occasions these guys causing qrm to oceanic ATC.

OH thats ok then

Hope your right

not true ,some of the guys do work to close in, other guys are playing around with extended ssb has well with no guard band , some without knowing it lol

I heard that they all wanted to take the foundation license but would not want the stigma of having a M6 call
due to the opinions of many members of the tm1 forum {bnghd}

There's a pissed up Echo Charlie on right now, swearing his head off about how he's going to kill some guy for shagging his bird one minute then banging on about how he's going to top himself because the government have stopped his money the next...

All the other Echo Charlies are keying over him now and making funny noises while one hapless EC6 tries to talk him down.

Classic.
