FT-897 'CAT' cable...

Post by Napalm »

Can I construct one myself or will I have to pay MLS/W+S thru the nose for one??

I already realised the data cable the club bought was an £18 ps/2 extension cable!

Rip off merchants!

I think you can build them yourself for a serial port connection, but those mini din plugs are a bitch to solder. Get a USB one off ebay for £8.50 delivered, they work a treat.

I use an eBay purchased programming cable for my FT-8900, it's a serial version not USB and like James says they are cheap and work a treat. ;) I'd certainly buy another if I was to ever get another radio that required a programming cable.
