Marconis first trans-atlantic radio contact that he managed from Ireland, and the antenna was roughly 200ft high x 200ft wide and was roughly 1/2 a mile long.
Marconi used 100,000 watts but had another 200,000 watts just incase = enjoy.
I originally watched the footage on Coast on the bbc,but can't seem to find that whole episode, heres some of the show.

Interesting film that and did you know that not far from my location on 13 May 1897 Marconi made telecommunications history, transmitting a radio signal across open sea for the first time, from Lavernock Point in the Vale of Glamorgan to the island of Flat Holm in the Bristol Channel.
Marconi was born on 25 April 1874 in Bologna, Italy.
Bloody immigrants, send them all back, what have they ever done for us?
