Hi,

President Lincoln 1st gen key beep; is there any mod to switch this off?

It's annoying loud {bnghd}

btw I'm no talking about the Roger Beep :D

J302 on PLL board. Remove cable nr 9 and no more beep.

That must be a very early Taiwan Lincoln. With the second run onwards (made in the Philippines) the key beep was much quieter and adjusted with the volume control. Much easier on the ears.

I presume it's had the talkback removal mod done.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!

Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

it's indeed a Taiwan 1st gen
have cut the wire for now but might do something else as i don't mind a beep on a very low volume

Found in the past uncliping the brown wire makes the 1st gen (mk1'') chann selecter do strange things' when clicking the bands below 28 megs(26 megs- floating volts'', unsolder 1meg resistor, sub say 270k that goes to pin 33 on cpu board.
