Midland 77-250K
So bought a "working" Midland 77-250K on fleebay and guess what.......
Opened it up and the PLL IC is missing along with the output (driver is still there though )
So I'm thinking as my next project, I should build it as a UK 27/81 spec rig.
Therefore, first question, which PLL do I need to try to source please?

Re: Midland 77-250K
Nice info Chris thanks.
So according to that it should have an LC7132 (for CEPT channels I presume), so could I use an LC 7137 for UK channels?

Re: Midland 77-250K
I hope appropriate feedback was left?
I hate people that try and scam others. If it was sold as working, surely they'd tested it and if they said they had, they were obviously lying.
How did they think they'd get away with it though???

The problem is not unfamiliar and people who don't know CB's just assume it's working because it turns on and lights up.The Collector wrote: ↑25 Jul 2021, 20:23 I hope appropriate feedback was left?

Considering I paid very little and it's virtually mint condition, I can forgive this time, although I will send the seller a message explaining the problems by way of education for the future. If it was a £100 sale I wouldn't be so calm about it for sure
I see it now as another learning project for me and with the help of you guys on here I'm sure it will live again

I would not think that too worrying, the guys involved are all still here to shed some light to your project. Or you could always send it to saint Nick for the work.ChubbyChops wrote: ↑25 Jul 2021, 20:54 Hmmm, just found this rather worrying thread.....

Or get the mid chip and then e-prom it.
I had a mint, boxed one of those a fair few years back, but as it wasn't a 27/81 radio I sold it on (along with a mint, boxed Alpha 4000 mid-band jobbie I also had). I think I paid £20 for it incl. postage and it sold for £25 plus postage. Those were the days eh...?

Re: Midland 77-250K
Anyone have any ideas on how to sort the channel changer out please?
Are eproms still available or does anyone have a spare one?
Can I use a channel changer from something else?
Any other suggestions before I start pestering Nick

I've got two of these and typically both have the lc7137 installed.ChubbyChops wrote: ↑27 Jul 2021, 14:46 Anyone have any ideas on how to sort the channel changer out please?

Looks to me that the channel changer is literally a plugin job

I'd assumed that to be the case from reading other posts and trawling the internet for info.lambrettadave wrote: ↑28 Jul 2021, 22:58
