Post by Gaz1969uk »

Hello All.

Just joined after stumbling across this forum.

Can anyone help with one.

Its a 9 section with a female screw thread on base.

Try and find a broken rig and the antenna from it.
I spotted a 4mn thread antenna on eBay that might be of use.

I think they're pretty long aerials from memory, a little bit longer than the likes of the Harvard/Alba ones and have to have certain length section pieces so that it can connect low down inside the radio. The usual replacement portable stereo ones are usually too short (will have high swr) and much too thin, as I've done that myself years ago as a temporary fix. They're possibly okay on some of the smaller 2-channel handhelds like the little Harvard 020 and gold-coloured Amstrads etc, but may even be too long!

Is yours broken, missing the top section, or just missing completely?
