Midland 79-893- no Rx/Tx

Post by Redbandit »

Hello everyone, I've a question: In my stash of radios (I found in my storage), I have a Midland 79-893 which has Side band. I'm thinking of keeping this one but, the channel selector dial cracked and lost half one side. I've tried basic searches on internet but I haven't found it. I was wondering if someone here might know a site for parts, such as this channel dial..?

Also, I tested it, however, this Midland (see photo), when I keyup, the meter changes to red but needle does not move. There is also No TX or Rx.. I used a walkie-talkie to test Tx/Rx, on another radios, this one, nothing. Any thoughts,? I'd appreciate it. 73s

Yes that's the one Claude, it's got a fat belly/ speaker bottom on it for the transformer.
I do believe that these are related to the cobra 138 radio
