It looks like one or two knobs were either a slightly different shade of nickel plating under the chrome (perhaps because as you mention Sammy, they're from diffetent radios), they weren't cleaned correctly prior to gold plating, or the gold wasn't sealed afterwards with the polish I referred to earlier and has been tainted by acidic or greasy fingers on the most commonly-used knobs. It still looks pretty good though.

I'm a fussy old sod and went over mine with the gold solution about 4 times, so the gold should never wear off even under heavy useage.

See http://stores.goldeneagleradios.com/channel-knob-gold/
Not sure if these are what you need? Might be cheaper to buy some replacements!

Don't think so Keiron . I only wanted to spend about £2 doing them all up :) If I added those ones from the States up , plus the postage , plus the customs , it'll probably be about £50

The postage was scary last time i ordered from him. I needed a meter for a washington and couldn't find one locally or even a cheap KP77 to buy for bits. It cost me about £60 in the end

2 quid?!? ...2 quid?!?... ya skinflint ;)

Most car shops will charge you a fiver a can, plus you'll possibly need a can of primer a can of clear lacquer and some wet&dry paper, so you're talking of £18- £20 unless you have stuff hanging around.
You can get bright metallic gold colours which wil be harder-wearing that the mirror finish paints.
The main issue is you'll have to sand down every trace of shiny finish on the knobs to "key" them, or the initial coat of primer won't stick to it. If you do half a job, the finished paint will eventually flake off.

You'll just have to decide if it's worth the hassle, time (labour-wise) and expense, or maybe bide your time and wait for a set of goldies to turn up, rare as they are.

Or go chrome.

£2 might have been a bit low :) Saying that , it's just an idea I was toying with . The ones I have are worn . I have a bit of work to do yet on the radio to get it where I want . After that I'll see how I feel .

I think I bought 2 new Cobra 2000 GTL meters from him . But the seller I bought the radio from ended up paying for them . But saying that , they weren't cheap either .

You should have asked me about those round meters for the Washingtom . You can get them from our friend wonderco_buy in Taiwan . I think it was these ones I bought .

You need to remove the inlay from the old meter . Then , as I final touch I painted the red needle white with tippex . Good as new . They worked fine in my Maddison .

Done properly:

Done onto existing (must be perfect) chrome:

I wouldn't trust the second method to last as long on say a clarifier knob. You still need a wand/brush electrode, a variable voltage power/pretty high amperage power supply and a few other bits too besides.

Here's an old pic' of the gold plating machine I had back in 2015 to do my Cobra and other bits:
