President Taylor 4
Does anyone know how to get into the Service / Engineering menu on the Taylor 4 please?
It's only doing 3 watts and I'd like my allowed maximum of 4
I've looked inside and there are no adjustments at all so it must be all done from a secret menu.

Maybe there isn't a secret menu and you have to make internal adjustments like in the olden days

Re: President Taylor 4
Haven't got a service manual for Taylor 4 but I have for 3, just checked they use the same board PA-434 and adjustment points.
Variable resistor RT202 is FM power, RT2 is signal meter receive.

Re: President Taylor 4
No internal adjustments at all on the Taylor 4 so whilst maybe the same board, they have moved everything to a service menu.
Anyway, I've found the convoluted combination of switch positions and button presses and made the necessary adjustments.

Re: President Taylor 4
I downloaded a pic of the IV guts to compare with my manual and the variables were also in the pic. I guess someone uploaded a Taylor 3 by mistake or it's an early version.
What were the combinations?

EMG - Off
ANL - Off
CB/TB switch to CB
Hold PTT, MODE and F whilst turning on

Re: President Taylor 4
As a side, on every one of the latest President service menu driven radios, the FM deviation needs setting to 511 to get 2.2khz dev.
This is as high as you can set it and is needed for the stock President mic.
Obviously turn it down to suit if using a power mic.
