Albrecht AE 5890 EU

Post by redeye68 »

Hello all,

Have got the above radio but it has very quiet audio it's very clear but I keep getting reports of it being very quiet.

Have put various power microphones on but does not make a difference. So does anybody know if I can turn up inside on a VR pot to boost it a little?

If so what VR pot number is the one to tweak slightly any info greatly received.

Thanks

This is the link to the alignment procedure for the AE 5890 EU
RV19 should be the deviation pot.

Hi Rottie,

Sorry no pic's I gave up when I had a look and no RV's marked on PCB. Another one you could try It improves the mod a little is open the standard microphone up and there is a RV on the small pcb I turned this up and it improved the audio level a little hope this is some help to you.

Still does seem to be very quiet though and still get comments of how quiet the audio is from other operators.

Again like you If anyone has a picture showing location of Required RV's that would be great thank you.

To improve modulation:
In original microphone:
1. Remove RV601
2. C602 put 100nF
3. C603 100pF
4. R602 wire jumper instead.

In radio:
1. C324 100pF
2. C172 100pF
3. RV10 - AM limiter trigger point adjustment. Do not overdrive.

Will be a lot better.
