Hi all. At the moment I have two inverted V dipoles in my garden, One for 40M and the other for 20M. They seem to work well with both having an SWR of about 1.5. Anyway I was just looking at this end fed half wave...

Any thoughts on this? Are they really resonant on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10m with no messing about? I was thinking of mounting it under the guttering of the house then running it straight down my garden which is about 70 foot long.

Yes and no.
That one looks crap, its a bad copy of a commercial product from RF comms, https://rfcomms.co.uk/hf-vhf-matching-units/
The RF comms ones do work, as I can testify, though you will have to wait until they have made a commercial batch and sell the surplus to the public - check the site every couple of weeks. The prices are similar or cheaper than the eBay crap.
Secondly, you will likely need a matcher to get every band low SWR.
Thirdly, it wont outperform your V's, just compliment them.

Right then I will not be ordering that then. I did think the inside of it looked a bit cheaply made. Im just having fun messing about with dipoles at the moment but I think I will stick to what I got then. The ones I am using now both have the RF choke I made for them with the correct amount of turns around a piece of plastic drain pipe. They work well as im getting into USA and Canada with no problems.

He says you dont need a counterpoise, but a ground rod is desirable to earth it.

IMHO 49:1 un-uns are lossy and bad idea.
If you want end-fed on 40/20/15/10m the end-connected windom offers much lower losses and no grounding needed.
