Gre psr 255
I've had this scanner for ages and had the channels programmed in ,when I went to use it lately the enter button wouldn't work ,I took it apart and on the board down the right hand side had like Verdi green on it I scratched it of and tried clean it up but I think it's took some solder off, it works but the right hand buttons don't work so I can't enter anything is it totally gone or can the board be soldered ?

Re: Gre psr 255
I take it it's not viable or not possible to solder the tracks on boards

No idea without seeing it, no disrespect, but it's a ten quid set, so don't go spending too much on it unless it has sentimental value.

If it has corroded tracks, it's been wet, or stored in damp conditions - If you have a decent magnifying glass, and can see the damage where you've wrecked the tracks, then you can repair it - with your 15W iron, this is exactly what I meant when I mentioned small spaces and big irons. PCB repair is usually possible, but of course, even if you fix it, the dodgy enter button will still be dodgy. Verdigris formation is also not quick - so if you can see it, it's been forming a fair while, and it's formation in air is slow, usually speeded along by acids and heat. Was it somewhere hot and damp?

I don't know of a big heap of them at a tenner a time, my comment was that if yours was fully working and decided to sell it then you'd struggle to get more than a tenner.

No sorry admiral I thought you could get me one even if the screen didn't work or that I just want to keep it as I've had it hooked up near me bed for years and I don't really want to buy another ,I've got a home base but it's in the other room with my CBs and that
