Moonraker UHF SWR meter SWR270

Post by NiCdeth »

I need an SWR meter for V/UHF, I've seen the Moonraker SWR270 [moonraker.eu] and was wondering if it's any good. It looks just like the CB ones, which aren't very accurate above c50MHz. Is there any difference inside? I was going to get the Maas UHF, everyone seems to have one and they seem well made but they are a bit more expensive.

Well, as the description says, complete with typo, 'Pefrect starting out SWR meter, small, basic and cheap !'

Says it all, if you buy a 2/70 twig off the shelf then it will be about right and this thing will be as good as one built into the rig.

If you're making your own antenna then something a bit more robust may be more suited.

No, the clue is in the model name, 270 or 2/70, get it?

I have one. Seems OK as a basic "am I going to blow the output on my radio or not?" meter
