Knights usualy do half decent stuff, they have a 7mm N plug advertised for £2.50.
Whatever its quality, I wouldn't think it will be terrible, it would be better than a PL via an SO239/N Plug adaptor, the quality of which isn't always obvious from external looks alone etc.

The only time I need N-Type is for 70cms. I have used an adaptor from time to time and had no issues at all, did exactly what I wanted it to.

In an ideal world one would use a dual band or tri-band Duplexer but for the amount of time I use 70 I couldn't justify the cost so just use an adaptor if ever I need to use 70 which is rarely.

Tbh never used anything less than 213/u with N type connectors... Snowdens in Howarth had tons of diff N type connectors to go with the MoD Racal gear they were nudging on... But its been awhile since i went though
