Hi everybody from Essex newbie.

Hi everybody,

I've been lurking this forum since I've found out about Ham and CB a couple of months ago. Managed to get a radio and antenna and currently trying to get it to work without success.

I've purchased a 11m T2LT antenna from ebay and have mounted it on a DX Commander type mast up around 10m high and I'm getting high SWR between 1.85 on 26000kHz, 1.35 on 27000kHz and 2.05 on 27.999kHz. I'm currently using RG 8 Super XX coax from Nevada radio and I'm getting a very high impedance... if I'm not mistaken, it should be around 50ohms but I'm currently getting between 60 and 91ohms on top of the band.

I'm going crazy as no matter what I try to do, it does not go lower than 1.8 and I'm unable to hear anything but noise.

Is the issue the coax? as mentioned, currently using a 21m run of RG8 Super XX.

Thank you.

Hey bud, I’m new here too, I’m into scanning and stumbled across this forum. Sadly I’m not able to offer advice on your problem, I’m having a few issues myself lol. Goof luck with it
