I was just reading the copy of Radio user ,which someone has kindly uploaded ,when i read that big steps have been made with the firmware,were they are now much more capable of decoding tetra ,So for say air enthuisiasts are caple of listening to ground staff ,I was just wondering is this a step closer to being able to decode the emergency services that we may be interested in ,or is that still a wish too far !!

Not any closer I’m afraid. The problem is not that they use TETRA, but that they use encryption. Listening to unencrypted TETRA has been possible using SDR based equipment long before i AOR introduced their new firmware.

AOR do not do trunking at all, they only make digital receivers with no way of following talkgroups or users, even on their new £4000 DV5700D it does no trunk following. For any kind of digital trunking you need a Whistler or a Uniden digital scanner.

I don't think so... Saying that I did not think AOR would do Tetra..

They do do Tetra but only traffic
And isn’t transmision from airwave Tetra begins schedule shouldn’t it of finished this year
