Re: UHF Fire
Scotland fire and rescue use them and still analogue, some areas use these frequencies on digital now.

Re: UHF Fire
This is what I have:
:1 457.0375 General Incident Ground
:2 457.0875 / 462.5875 (Mobile repeaters)
Some fixed sites e.g Birmingham Airport, Bham Airport Fire Service refer to this as 'local authority channel')
[NB 462.5875 is US GMRS:2 which causes problems occasionally]
:3 457.0125
:4 457.1875 (RAF fire are reported to have this channel too, unconfirmed)
:5 457.1375 / 462.6375 (Mobile repeater)
[NB 462.6375 is US GMRS:4 which causes problems occasionally]
(Leics occasional use this as a repeater for fire control - presumably relayed thru Airwave on the appliance)
:6 457.2375 Water relay?
:7 455.9875
:8 455.9875 / 462.5375 (Control vehicle repeater - same freq as 7 simplex)
:9 457.4875 BA team?

Re: UHF Fire
Sorry, I should have been more specific ha ha, and not just stated south east Wales, bit lazy on my part. I am spending most of my time at present just outside Caerphilly and 457.0375 FM is used daily.welshevo wrote:Mikel... i thought South wales fire were now using DMR? and where abouts are you ? as ive had that programmed into my handie and never heard anything in cardiff? ....inbox me?
The way it seems to work is that they will arrive at an incident and someone with a radio will assess the scene and call back to the appliance instructing what type of 'stop' message to send to control with the Tetra radio.
Also heard them using it locally whilst checking smoke detectors and for giving instructions as to what ingredients to purchase in Asda so that a curry could be made back at the station.
I was under the impression that it was all 'South Wales Fire and Rescue Service' these days but maybe not if Cardiff is using DMR for Fireground comms?

Re: UHF Fire
Most areas can switch to DMR now when working with other areas that use DMR all the time.

Re: UHF Fire
I would assume that actually any areas with DMR radios would be using DMR, and then would switch back to analogue if they were working with another unit that has only analogue radios.thelad wrote:Most areas can switch to DMR now when working with other areas that use DMR all the time.
