Charging a bricked MTH800

Post by rlf79cm »

Further to last post, I've managed to get the Flasher tool working to repair the MTH800. Problem now is the battery is dead..!

Does a bricked MTH800 charge? Doesn't seem to take charge from the standard charger and my SPN1772A is also faulty so won't charge off the main port of the spare battery one. Only thing I can really think of is to buy another MTH800 and charge the battery off that one?

Yes it's very odd. The radio has a flash image and codeplug on now but the versions don't match - radio can still be read in CPS. I've got the correct versions to update it now but as soon as it connects via Power/1/9 it says battery voltage 1.26v and shuts down.

I've ordered a replacement battery and charger so hopefully that will fix it.. I just wasn't aware if the mismatch of flash and codeplug would stop it charging :?:

If different versions of codeplug for firmware then it won’t work.

Can you not charge it manually, if you can work out the battery pinouts? I know it's super dodgy, but it might be worth a shot if you're up the creek. I suppose M have stopped that for Safety now, and for battery/charger sales.
