yep I saw them they do have CTSS I have a pair of 446,s youd be surprised how usefull they are I keep in touch with the kids @ car-boots fairs etc etc even he Misses can bugger off for a while sometimes in town shopping...

I ve had up to 40 miles (well thirty eight) on the hill tops and had a bit of fun monitoring too.

even ran a 446 link with the 857 homebase and chatted to Oz walking the dog..

not bad for 20 quid....

My uncle bought two packs (4 radios) for use on his boat. Had a play with them and they might not be the best built 446's but it's features rival that of some of the more expensive handhelds.

Features include 38 CTCSS tones, Call ring, Rodger beep, dual monitor, scan, baby monitor, VOX, chronometer (Stopwatch) and supplied with earpeices.

TX sound quality when received on my puxing is great, RX on on the UCOM could be bettrer but clear enough.

Range claimed is 5km, at the moment 1/4 mile is all i've tested but still RS9 even with buildings in way. Going to a mile range later and will test to see if they are fine at that distance in the built up town.

They are nice wee radios and for ?20 the pair you cant go wrong.

They can also decode CTCSS.

At one mile slightly patchy but possible to understand transmissions RS3/4 (Built up area).
