Are they the posh aluminium jobbies?

That would effect the signal a tad. :lol:

If they are the plastic variety, I don't see a problem. I had a CB and then a PMR446 set-up in a plastic top box (even a pannier on occasion) that worked perfectly fine for 'convoy' use. I went so far as to drill holes and fit rubber gaskets to the top box for watertight cable routing.
