So forget it, unless you will modify your radio with external antenna socket.
Now all you can do is to attach a piece of wire to existing antenna and hope for better reception.

Try a quarter wave at 31cm, UK DAB is around the 220Mhz mark, same as US ham band on 1.25m. A tiger tale could help but height is might with any radio aerial. If you're really struggling for signal put a socket on the radio and use a suitable yagi beam aerial
UK DAB frequecies:
11B = 218.640Mhz
11C = 220.352Mhz
11D = 222.064Mhz
12A = 223.936Mhz
12B = 225.648Mhz
12C = 227.360Mhz
12D = 229.072Mhz
The perfect face for radio.

Build a yagi beam for it. It would be interesting to see what distant stations you can pick up. A 13 element would do. :thumbup:

I gathered that :D besides it be pretty amazing if there wasn't a lift on and you got that station. Being by the coast helps and the X510 antenna has a nice gain on it.

I use a comet GP-9 now and have some height. May bring it in from the shed and give it a go, see what stations I can get from here!

The GP-9’s Gain : 144 / 8.5dBi 433 / 11.90 dBi

It certainly feels lighter than the x510, that was a really heavy antenna
