Hi Folks
Just getting into SW
And wondering if anybody could advise me on the Following
which is best

Yaesu FRG 7700
OR
Yaesu FRG 100

If your after a base station go for the frg100. I have had it over a year and had some good stations to listen to. More and more people are going over to sdr though.

You may want to look at the Alinco DX-R8. This is a current model and not much more expensive than than the second hand Yaesu 100/7700 rigs

Indeed but I need a new 3 way input level switch for the back of it first, existing one a bit knackered....

If so then to find a replacement these days is going to be really difficult.

No it's the 3 way switch on the back which selects the antenna input sensitivity. I'll have to download the circuit diagram and see if another 3 position switch will do.
