The gold k40 discoloration to white
Dropped on the gold anniversary k40 from 90s but the white base seems to have gone a cream colour.
Can this be returned to white without spraying or best left off white
Thanks again

Re: The gold k40 discoloration to white
Cheers bigpimp will try a little soda on damp cloth .Yes got a few k40 myself one missing the special mounting bracket to allow lip mount to mag base but in time one will turn up.
I thought for a few seconds whip was cut but the owner stuck it in wrong way around .
This one looks dam near mint besides yellowing .
Going to wipe all the gold with wd40 , try cleaning gently the white base and white coax latter.
If this was used it was very little.
No rubber base however so will likely use white electrical tape for now see if I can get white thin rubber sheet to make one.
Not the best performing antenna even in the day but classic for sure.

Mask off a 1/4" test "ring" around the very bottom of the base before dabbing bleach everywhere to see if it'll work.
I'd be very cautious about getting bleach on the lettering too.
Once that's buggered, you'll be gutted and wish you'd left it cream
There are tutorials about "bleaching" yellowed plastic on Youtube if you want to check a couple out first.

This is very true I would be gutted if sticker melted.
To be honest I have decided it's best left alone.it is only the base and not cool section .good from and sticker are mint .
Never seen one in the flesh myself ,looks kind of tacky in a old school way.

Re: The gold k40 discoloration to white
I liked the look of the gold and white ones.
I saw a silver one a year or two back that was attached to a K40 shop display perspex box. I think it was a £75 starting price so I never looked again.
I'll stick to my 3 Tagra t40's
