sirio 5000 pl meant to have a short?

Post by Master Virus »

Anyone know if the sirio 5000 pl is supposed to have a short in it with it having a coil?
Tested the 145 magmount and it's fine, tested the thirty foot coax and its fine, tested the antenna itself and its got a short.
So could you tell me if its meant to be this way or i need to return it?
Thank you

A DC short you mean?
The 4000 is shunt fed, so guess the 5000 is the same, so it will measure zero ohms with a multimeter

Yes i mean a dc short because i've read that antennas with a coil have a dc short unlike other antennas that don't have a continuity if you get what i mean?
