Yes i found a fishing rod in a bin... Two canes tie wrapped for the middle... 1.1 meters of satellite coax (quality £1 meter) and 37 feet of speaker wire solder both lines together and your nearly there lol mine cost £8 ish altogether... 3 pound less noise average... Good rx very good... Try one have a bit of fun... Runs 10/15 feet off the ground.. If you get on high ground... Very very good..
looking for propagation for 2013 and beyond... Operating close to the Edge....

What's the best way to match the loop a balun or 1/4 wave 75 ohm coax, does the balun waste more power than the 1/4 wave coax .

I prefer coax. I wind it on plastic pipe and it works as choke at the same time.
Cheap, easy to obtain and build.

You can't have too many antennas...
