S,
Thanks Sammy,
Yeah, that was the conclusion I came to. It should have the upd-858 pll.
I've already tee'd up Nick to do some modifications for me. Looking forward to receiving it.
If it's anything like the photographs, I''ll be well pleased.
Cheers

Fozzy Bear dont care ya know, so er thats the story!
My Sommerkamp is a clone of that, or is it the other way round?
Mine was recently down at Nicks having an extra couple of bands and FM fitted.
Working well. With there being decent propagation this weekend, it was certainly hearing plenty.
Only two things I don't like about mine. Black plastic knobs and a bl00dy din socket for the microphone. I'll be sorting these out soon.

President Washington arrived yesterday. Overall, very pleased with the way it looks. It's in excellent condition, except that some plonker decided to engrave the serial number at the back of the case. It's really not visible though but I know it's there!
Anyway, a quick pic of the radio
It's not all good though, as there's an issue with TX. It receives ok but there's absolutely no power output on the designated frequency. It does however, draw close to 3 A on TX and there's some hash generated on 10 and 11m when on TX, so something a miss.

Have you popped a frequency counter on it at all? A few months back I had the same thing with a Ford uk40 radio and after adding a counter, I found it was TX'ing about 80 channels away. Upon opening it up, it turned out it had a 120ch conversion board inside and one of the buttons was activating it. I was just wondering if there are additional channels in play, but just on TX for some strange reason?
