I’m not sure if I paid over the odds or not to be honest...
A bit over £200..
Located in France.
No box but very good condition. No scratches, original mount, original wiring still with warning label saying not to key up without an antenna etc , and an original mic.
Everything seems to work .. including the AWI light ! (As I discovered when I forgot to raise my antenna !!)
I'm not sure if you did either having never bought or owned one, but it's your money and other bidders were obviously willing to spend nearly that much too. As long as it works and you're happy, that's the main thing.

Yeah, that’s my theory too.. and I’m delighted with it.
It wasn’t as dear as some I’ve seen, but in better condition than most..
I was bidding on a 6001 too till it went too high..
Just the 5001, 6001 and possibly an 8001 to find now, to complete the collection

Erm...
There are three versions of the 7001 alone to contemplate.
AM/SSB
AM/FM/SSB
AM/FM/SSB with five digit frequency readout.
A niggle tells me there may be a fourth with a built in echo...
There was a chap on here many moons ago. Went by the name Corblimeyguvnor. He'd set himself a goal to collect all the Teabury Stalker radio's in their various versions. It got pretty bad in the end. The merest hint of a wood veneer finish and he wouldn't calm down for days.
He ended up selling them in order to preserve the little sanity he had left.
Never, ever, ever....bloody anything ever!
Far too many radio's to list here. But I do own a legal one...

To be honest, get a Fidelity 1000, slap a bit of blue/grey paint over the covers, tipp-ex the words “Midland 5001” on the front and ensure it puts out some white noise occasionally...
