Was meant to put this up before today

The Russian ARISS team members plan to activate SSTV from the ISS on Thursday December 18 and Saturday December 20, 2014. Expected SSTV mode will be PD180 on 145.800 MHz with 3 minute off periods between transmissions. A total of 12 different photos will be sent during theoperational period. Start time would be around 14:20 UTC on December 18 and 12:40 UTC on December20. The transmissions should terminate around 21:30 UTC each day. Space X 5 will be launching this week and delays in the launch could adjust SSTV operational times.

managed to get this image about 19:30 tonight.. will try again on the next pass and on Saturday :)

Nice catch! That first one looks like he might be shaking hands with Sergei Korolev, which is not something the USSR would have been too free with photos of!

How times change. :D

Could this be where that first one came from?

For those who have never heard of Korolev, he was the brains and the driving force behind much of the Soviet space programme. Of course this wasn't until after he got released from the Gulag, where he was sent during the Great Purge.

While he was alive, his career was shrouded in secrecy and he never had the satisfaction of being publicly associated with any of his incredible achievements.

Thanks Guys

Don't know much about Korolev (only what we did at school and that wasn't much). :D
looks like it came from there kr0ne or just seconds earlier/later.

The ISS was over Croatia/Bosnia on the first piccy and second was over the Bay of Biscay/Northern Spain.
got nothing when it was more nearer..
i'll see what Saturday has to offer 8)

i love doing them :)

also decode the weather faxes on HF , RTTY, Morse and other modes.
easy to do.. just a lead (with mono jacks on each end) from external speaker/headphone to mic in on the computer.
i use the MMSSTV and MultiPSK programs to decode stuff.
Usually leave it on 14.230Mhz USB when i go out and see what SSTV images i've got when i get back home
