would an .xls be any good? I can convert and share....5973Laterz wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021, 12:57 I am having trouble opening this file in both Apache Open Office and a Windows 10 suggested Windows 10 app "XLSX Viewer Free" (just get a blank screen) I for one would appreciate if Ofcom had an online html ported website based version.

Nice gesture thanks. Although I am not sure if there is something specific to the xlsx file format that would effect the
calculators working or not? Not very up on Excel and the file format capability... worth a try.

Try this and let me know. I did a few side-by-side calculations and the results were the same on both versions5973Laterz wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021, 14:00 Nice gesture thanks. Although I am not sure if there is something specific to the xlsx file format that would effect the

There must be something up with this machine then. I can try it elsewhere getting a 403 forbidden on the zippyshare link. I willl try Libre office
For anyone interested in that here is the link:
https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/
There are other sites and I got a Trojan warning the above main site seems ok. It opens in Libre Office but I am unable to change any values in what I think is the calc part on the top right.. hardly smooth sailing is it. Am I missing something a calc where you are unable to change any values ? I just get "protected cells cannot be modified" on every cell.

I had to convert some of the images on the sheet to JPG to get the whole file small enough to share on here without the zippy share. See attached

Re: Ofcom EMF safety calculator & ICNIRP Guidelines
How is ofcom going to regulate the dimwits with licences who sit on channel 19 running 100w or more ??
or the same licenced dimwits on 27.555 ??
Ofcom can get stretched..

Re: Ofcom EMF safety calculator & ICNIRP Guidelines
Call me a conspiracy nut if you want, but I'm beginning to think Ofcom wants to get rid of the amateur bands completely so they can gobble up more spectrum to flog to the Telcom industry. Sticking onerous and confusing regs on us will drive plenty out of the hobby completely. When we are down to a rump of barely active moaners they will petition government to withdraw the allocations.

Once they took away the license fee for amateurs, our cards were marked....
Look at all that tasty bandwidth we take up though, especially the higher bands where truck loads of cash have already been paid for access....

I entered 10mhz at 10w and got 4.77mtrs (around 16ft) distance to keep away from an antenna. I assume this means in all directions?

Re: Ofcom EMF safety calculator & ICNIRP Guidelines
I tried that, and I also entered 1w and got the same result! Also it doesn't seem to work at all below 10MHz. Whatever happens, i think there'll be a suspiciously large number of people running 5 watts or less.....

Also got just over a foot at 70cms for 1w and over 2ft needed at 5w on 2mtrs, how's that work out for handheld users then? Are we operators classed as expendable or are we supposed to suit up in tin foil type outfits when operating handheld / backpack?

I would not fear HF going, just imagine trying to operate a reliable transmission for business purposes in the middle of the International amateur radio bands where 8-10KW's ERP's are regularly beaming in from overseas at +20dB, a non starter. I don't know about VHF band to comment really.

Re: Ofcom EMF safety calculator & ICNIRP Guidelines
I've just tried that and on Topband (the only band I currently operate on) with a PEP of 30 watts into my loaded vertical monopole it says the min separation is 2m. Which is handy as there's a public footpath just 3 metres away. Looks like I may just squeak it.Alan Pilot wrote: ↑06 Mar 2021, 06:41 This is a better calculator.
