Far from boom. Output is 14V, OVP set to 15V. Pretty safe.

Was sent this link but chap who sent it says his is not suitable for powering his radio gear due to the noise it creates on his radios, uses it as per the article ..model aircraft charging.

CH25...any mods required to reduce / eliminate any noise when using your own mate ?

I didn't notice any noise or birdies from dps600pb on bands I use - 160-6m so there is nothing to reduce.
Important thing when using switching PS - you must use 3 pole power socket, but it's pretty obvious.

Okay thanks guess he was just unlucky with the noise issue . Another good read for anyone planning on modding one.

I need glasses, no doubt, but where he complains about noise on the bands? I can't find that.

Was talking about the chap who sent me the link in my rchelicopter link who said his was producing severe noise on his radio. But yes the last link I shared certainly never mentioned anything untoward about there use.

Ok. I din't need to mod mine against RF noise, because I can't hear any.
I have my station located on country side, with very low noise floor so I would notice it.

I have a HP power supply that can provide over 100A from its 12v line but it will not provide over +13v without modification, although it's reasonably easy. After modification, mine provides about +13.5v.
A simple resistor bridge bypasses the pull up to start requirement & to raise the voltage, I replaced the voltage VR with a fixed resistor. It's also completely noise free across the spectrum.
Can't get more A for your cash. Spend a wee bit more & put it in a case.

Hi drew not for sale is it ? Was going to go for one of the ones in the link above mate but just don’t have the tech ability to mod it for the required voltage, lower fan noise etc.

Unfortunately not but it really isn't difficult & while it's nice to make it look good, it really isn't required. There's a great thread on converting server power supplies in the home brew section & plenty of info on the web.
