GB3NS repeater weak
I can no longer access the GB3NS repeater, at first I thought it must down but I checked the UK repeater site to see if it was still operational or had changed its CTCSS Tone.
I heard the Morse ident from the GB3NS repeater so that means its still putting out power but I can not access it anymore. This repeater was pretty strong in my area. I have checked my antenna and radio just to make sure there wasn't any faults at my end which there aren't so unless GB3NS has changed its CTCSS tone then the repeater isn't working correctly or has changed location.
Can anybody else access GB3NS?

Re: GB3NS repeater weak
The repeater has lost coverage in my area it used to be very strong, so strong that I could access it from a handheld indoors on low power. I can't receive it at all now.
I may run some tests at some point by getting another Ham to monitor GB3NS who's nearer to the repeater and then try open it at my end and if its the case that I'm opening it but not hearing it then something has changed, indicating that the output of the repeater has possibly decreased.
Also I'm well within the coverage area according to the coverage map.

Re: GB3NS repeater weak
I've just had conformation that the GB3NS dose have an issue although those in other areas may not notice it, there has been some interference on the receive side so that explains why I wasn't hearing it. I do set the 82.5Hz tone on receive as well as transmit. Oddly I can't hear the morse of the repeater but I can hear conversations loud and clear on the repeater.

Re: GB3NS repeater weak
Like a lot of analogue repeaters it only sends a CTCSS tone when it's squelch is open, hence no tone sent during morse beacons..

Re: GB3NS repeater weak
Yes in Heathrow area you can receive it no problem. In Essex and London area the coverage has dropped. As I said before I never had a problem receiving or getting into GB3NS where I am the signal was always very strong. I get GB7NS no problem.
