70cm channel spacings

Post by 26mb04 »

Is there anything stopping the use of 12.5kHz channel spacing on 70cm? I know it's already a massive band, but it seems a bit of a waste to use 25kHz spacings on NFM and lose the channels in between. Unless, of course, someone else is using them.

Nothing is stopping you as long as you use 12.5KHz spec equipment..

ham bands have plans for what goes where, but in fact you can transmit wherever you like in practice, not just on any channelised frequency.

The M.O.D use parts of the 70cm band along with army cadets but I'm not sure if they still do.
