Hi, is it possible to turn a normal AM/FM radio into a scanner i dont mind which services it can pick up as long as its a few. Thanks!!

Not that I know to...!!!
Scanner Frequencies are different to them on a AM/FM Stereo.

In order for you to do that you would need to do a lot of big changes like changing the RF front end, coils, mixer, oscilator, variable capacitor. And for a worth while scanner a double conversion would be far better than a normal AM/FM single conversion.
A bog standard AM/FM radio to turn that into a scanner is simply not worth while.
Then you would need maybe Wide/FM, Narow/FM, Wide/AM, Narrow/AM.

It is a major job so putting it in simple words, no dont bother go out any buy one perhaps from eBay.
