Antron delamination

Hi,
My Antron 99 has started to become sort of furry with delaminating glass fibres.
Has anyone had success with sanding and recoating with grp resin?

Same procedure like for fiberglass boat or canoe.

Used both resin and yacht varnish. Prefer yacht varnish , simpler lasts longer and is uv resistant in majority of brands.

There have been a couple of topics previously regarding this. Have a quick search. Another suggestion was to cover the sections in large heat-shrink tubing.

done loads..
sand down using 100 grade sand paper,
wipe down with a damp cloth to clean.
spray from top to bottom with normal car paint lacquer
allow the lacquer to start to run as you spray so it fully covers, give about five coats all good..

if you use yacht varnish it will turn yellow.
resin, is a bit over kill and will crack as the antenna flexes in the wind.

never had that problem back when as used self amalg tape from top to bottom just leaving water release holes from pll259 lol just saying!
