Handheld charger

Post by Mudslinger »

Hi Everyone, the other week I picked up a skiptech HS-2000 handheld. I can get AA rechargeable batteries easily enough but where can you buy a charger for them these days? in the old days you could buy dedicated chargers for HH CB's that would charge them in situ, but I haven't managed to find anything like that yet at a reasonable price.

Many thanks.

There is no such thing as a Fidelity 1000 which is too good to scrap.

They're quite rare things.

In the old days, rechargeables didn't last very long at all, so most of us used them with Duracells...when we could afford them. Those that did use the chargers, found that they didn't last long due to unreliability anyway. I think I had one that got really hot and then wouldn't charge, so I used my dad's multi-charger and did them 4 at a time.

You do see the odd one on ebay now and again alongside a handheld, but they're certainly few and far between.

I think I just need to find out a power supply with the correct output and use that.

I think they're usually higher than those used as a straight forward power supply, possibly 14v or maybe even up to 18v.
