M17/84 rg 223 use

Post by original45 »

Picked up a roll of the above which I read is better spec than the commercial spec 223.
Great I thought as I read is double screaming and I guessed less loss than rg 58 .
Silver plated copper solid centre conducted tougher jacket.

Well for those of you who understand this guide me please. Further reading states despite it's second braid it actually has more loss than rg 58.?.

Initially I thought I may use some for a vhf uhf feed on the house .have enough to also make a feed line to the half wave Multiband hf wire too , thinking it's double braid less loss lighter to suspend but now I'm thinking I wasted my money.

So what is this stuff good for ,has is good properties for vhf uhf hf even .I really am surprised it has more losses than rg 58.
Any advices gladly received.
All except scrap it lol.
