Ulverston Prison question

Post by mickydt »

could anyone tell me if Ulverston Prison has now moved to tetra, i have noticed over the last week that the frequency has now gone silent.

If it has moved on, then i can remove the frequency from my database although i will monitor for a short while,

Note this should of been Lancaster prison farms and still wondering if anyone has picked anything up from this frequency as it has now been quite for over a week.

TETRA is not used in prisons its only used when prison officers have to escort prisoners to hospital in an ambulance. Its used to keep in touch with the prison and the police control. If its changed it will be digital non-TETRA most likely dmr.

Down here in devon, Dartmoor went tertra, and are now back on analogue due to "opperational problems" and cost, according to one of the screws who drinks in the same pub as I do.

lancaster farms are using tetra and have been for about 3 months now, although the prison works are still using the old works back channel.

Not related to Ulverston, but North West prison frequency related nonetheless; HMP Styal and HMP Risley have now vanished from the usual 452.650 and 452.725 frequencies and haven't been heard in about 2 Months.
I never heard anything of much interest on these frequencies, but it's another sad loss of more analogue frequencies.
