Spotted a strong digital signal this morning on 455.550MHz, quick look on WTR only gave one likely local suspect but they have turned to the digital dark side, colour code 3, system covering all three campuses it seems.

Monitored it to confirm my suspicions and was hilarious as they seemed to getting used to and/or testing the system, so it seems it must be relatively new.

Correct, digital MOTOTRBO/DMR was using DSDforWin to decode it.

That is because as I've said twice already it is a digital signal (MOTOTRBO/DMR) which I was able to decode using my FUNCube Dongle SDR and DSDforWin..

I've been using a scanner with a Discriminator tap and it works a treat but getting DSD to run in DOS was a bit of a pain in the ass,had to get the old brain cells working

How easy is it with a Dongle do you still go line in or not ?

No easy answer I'm afraid it can be easy or can be a pain

Most users end up having to install some form of 'virtual audio cable' software that routes the audio to the decoder using software, and you still have to use the DOS window and set up your 'input/recording' source accordingly.

Sorry as much I would love to the complexity, lack of documentation and numerous downloads and set up steps involved would mean I would probably be here forever...
however if you do search on here and the web there are plenty of others who have made it work.
