Russ Meyer for the win. I'm still collecting his films off http://cinemageddon.org
Yep i remember Eddie Yates avin a cb, i seem to think he had a Harrier or Harvard handheld & talked on it as he was throwing rubbbish in the wagon, quite funny really,as in reality you not be able to hear a thing at the back end of the wagon for it making its noiseAC1W wrote:I remember Eddie Yates off of coronation street had a CB and talked to "Maid Marion" when he was on his dustbin cart.
Back in the day that is.....

Re: CB Radio in popular culture
I have to agree that DofH had a big influence on the youth of the 80s with mag mounts swaying and Boss Hog's base mic! I accidentally recorded 'The Gladiator' one night but I think it's actually 'Citizen Band' at one point the Gladiator fires a grappling hook through the back window of a speeding car. i liked the pulling down of bucket mouths and big burner runners, antenna masts. There are a few stations around stoke that deserve similar treatment.

It was also demonstrated on SWAPSHOP and guess what? just like all the other demos , they couldn't hear one another. I also seem to remember a Ham Concorde/multimode on the same program .

Re: CB Radio in popular culture
Im going to add one as well as i just saw a rerun on gold terry and june used cb radio as well in the tail end of there show and if i saw it right it was a fidelity.
Also i recall seeing cb in sorry as well and sykes also had cb radio in it as towards the end of the 70's early 80's even the bbc were jumping on the cult following of cb.
Theres also been a new film showing on 1 of the sky channels were 2 lads put a cb in there car and wind up a trucker who turns out to be a nutter and chases them around in his truck. radios look like cobra's but the one you see has stupid led lights instead of a s meter

Not sure if anyone watched 'Ghosts' on the evil BBC. Anyway there was a character called Pat who used CB in the 80's, It showed him sat in his garden shed talking to his mates. Sound familiar?

Gets decent reviews, 4 series, 27 episodes.
I'll give it a go, cheers
