Converting Hp Server Power Supply’s..

Post by Raverrst »

Hi all. Been using a Hp Pl18 server power supply for some months now in the shack, it seems to work really well, no rf noise etc. Something I am finding is when I plug in the mains im getting quiet a “snack” as the supply powers on, the method iv followed to mod the supply to switch on was to just loop a wire between the first and forth pins on the board, I see other methods use two 1k resistors to allow the supply to switch on! Anyone know the need for the resistors? Would this add a more gentle switch on?
