Watts into amp

Post by NightProwler »

Just wondering really if it is safe to pass 100 watts through an amp that is not switched on? I done it by accident, Everything is ok but it got me thinking

I wouldn't :)

Not sure what amp it is , but mine is a valve type and the i/p gets fed through the relay when it's off . Not sure how much the relay will handle , but 100W would be pushing it in my case I think .
