Modifying a CTE A300 amplifier

so i have had an CTE A300 amplifier for several years, and i've always wanted to beef up the input cable and do something with the rx/tx switching relay as it's so slow i lose what others are saying to it, i've just stripped it tonight and will post some photos as i modify it.

to speed my relay up i put a 1N4737 zener a dioide in series but in the oposing direction to the flyback diode on the relays coil, todo this i use a desolder pump and removed one leg to put the zener diode in place and then solder them together.

so i put it back together and viola it works a treat soon as i un-key i have the unsquelched audio coming back and ssb still works nicely,

no more missing what people say as my relay was taking what seemed like forever to switch

next i'm thinking to address the cabling as it could be thicker, i have some 16mm2 to use and i want to repalce the main on-off switch as says 6A on the side of it my clamp on meter says this draws 21A on FM
