Have a word with your local charity shops, they sometimes get donated old working 386's and 486's...

Re: ht600e and gp900 programing
Try running the program in Dosbox
https://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox ... e/download?
Basically you use the dosbox program to mount the directory with you motorola software as a harddrive, you then log onto that drive from within the dosbox program and run the ht1000 program.
You can also create a config file that sets virtual comports to link to your real comport, but handles the data rates etc.
I use it for programming old tait and Icom radios that dont like windows 10 etc.
Hope that helps
Oh and there is a function button for slowing the processor speed reported The help file explains it all.

Re: ht600e and gp900 programing
Part of the problem with programming old Motorola radios is the way the serial port is controlled, most Windows PC's will run the Motorola programs under DosBox but fail to communicate correctly with the radio..
