Perhaps the photo's were taken of another one that they had and have already sold (or are keeping). Or, may be an internet photo otherwise, to try and disguise the fact that the cable was frayed. Bit miffed, the outer cables sheath is all frayed badly at the speaker and fraying at the jack plug. (No fraying on photos)
It works though so I'll either just heat shrink it or tape.
Can't be bothered returning it, contemplating whether to give negative or neutral feedback. They must of noticed the state of it when packing.
