Finally won an Optima MK3 at right money. Wanted one for a while.

I have only heard one Optima on air and it sounded terrible on FM. Way too much deviation.

Maybe that's why it's been "fixed" ?Mudslinger wrote:I have only heard one Optima on air and it sounded terrible on FM. Way too much deviation.

They are fixed because normally they are too quiet. It had been fixed too much by the sound of it.

Sounds like the mod may go from one extreme to the other. I think the mod made them do +/- 3.5Khz, which might be enough to make them sound horrible on some radios.
When new they were +/- 1.5khz

Same seller as the last ones. Didn't pay that for 2 of mine including the postage the other week.

Well we've all got ours, and at considerably less than the new price. However it could still be argued that it's still a reasonable price for a very good quality piece of NOS kit.CBR1100XX wrote:Looks like the guy has thought , hmmm supply and demand and hike the price up

The seller listed ten previously, so seemingly another five have turned up...

The price the guys paid last time was realistic IMO but is it now worth about £55 .I suppose he sold the last 10 quickly and thought , I'll ask more now , as said good luck to him if he can find people these days that will pay his asking price , not me I'm afraid .
I just wish I could find a heap of NOS lol .

They'll sell. Maybe not as quickly, but they will. RTI's prices will no doubt assist them!CBR1100XX wrote:The price the guys paid last time was realistic IMO but is it now worth about £55 .I suppose he sold the last 10 quickly and thought , I'll ask more now , as said good luck to him if he can find people these days that will pay his asking price , not me I'm afraid .
