Seems as though Newcastle have now adopted combined Approach and Tower operations with a single controller at low traffic times. I guess that means another ATC'er given the brass watch and shown the door ?

Hopefully its not the happy controller, I always enjoy listening to him.

Been doing it a while at Soton too. If anything its an improvement. easier co-ordination, frees up an assistant. Radar controller is still there, just monitoring, so no early go's.
