Some Scottish trawlers were just below there last night, could not understand much of what they were saying with such strong accents. Only words I could pick out was F***

I think that the group on 6670 LSB are speaking Danish. Icelandic sounds similar, so yes ... trawlers. Could be Faroes.

EDIT: Yep, Danish. The other two Germanic Languages - Dutch and German itself - I can understand, but I'm only getting about a quarter of what they are saying.

Edit 2; They are not talking 'fish', they are talking 'radio'. Danish Echo-Charlies.

I tried this. Its a bit clearer. There are some N.Irish accents in there.http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/ If you go to the 'chat' section you can find out quite a bit there.6670 seems to be Germans talking abut antennas.

Nobody from the UK called in yet. The net 'chairman' speaks English.

6670 LSB

Well, ''Nordsprache'', the German version of ''Geordie'' seems to be the language of Echo-Charlie tonight.

Disappointed to hear no Brits calling in.

That's it Chris, can't think of anything to say - reach for a personal insult. The universal go-to guy!

You know it's funny, a lot is made of the fact that a 5 year old managed to pass the foundation licence but we are all testament to the fact that any class of licensee is more than capable of acting like a 5 year old... :)

I'm not trying to be offensive, but you insist on starting it.

It's just that among the ham radio and train-spotting communities, us ''Joe Bloggs'' or ''Fred Dibnah'' types are well used to meeting people who are - how shall I put this - ''Socially Different''.

You are obviously one of those people. Probably brilliant in your own specialist way, and we can tolerate you. But don't try to say that 'we' are wrong for not being like you.

There are a few others on here too. 'Technonerd' hobbies seem to attract you.

There's no need to be that way. You can be 'nice nerd' and not 'nasty nerd'.
